...the best speeches are not only heard, they are also felt. I try to reach your heart and soul, not just your brain.

...speeches and seminars should be based on a foundation of integrity, respect, dignity and tolerance. In my speeches and seminars I may take you out of your comfort zone and possibly increase your discomfort, but you will at all times be treated with integrity, respect, dignity, and tolerance.

...most organizations and most managers espouse creativity and "thinking outside the box", but reinforce the opposite message. That's why creativity in most companies is rare. My goal is to get you to think while I'm talking. I try to get you to think about things you haven't thought about in ways you haven't thought.

...many "How To" speeches and seminars offer advice similar to: "The best cure for insomnia is a good night's sleep." Fine and good, but how do you get a good night's sleep? I try to move beyond platitudes and tautologies to practical, workable, solutions.

...learning should be exciting and fun. I try to incorporate spontaneous humor and "real time" interaction to make you think about potentially threatening issues in a non-threatening way.

...people learn when they are involved in the learning. I try to engage you in my message. I will bring you in with questions, stories, illustrations, analogies, examples, and your personal case studies.

...participants should walk out of a speech or seminar with more than handouts, books, and tapes. They should walk out thinking, feeling, smiling, and possibly even frustrated because of a personal realization that they have seen a better way which they must now adopt.

...a good speech and seminar is like a good sermon: It afflicts the comfortable and comforts the afflicted.

Finally, I believe that the good speaker isn't the person who remembers what to say, but says what should be remembered. I will focus on a few simple messages that I think you should remember.
